Big Bear adds weather. It does not add a roof rating.
Big Bear sits in the San Bernardino National Forest, a common mountain drive from Southern California. Snow, chain controls, fire restrictions, and pass rules change by season. The Forest Service page is the authority. A rooftop tent still has to meet the vehicle’s dynamic limit. Our kits are not a Big Bear package and are not validated for checkout.
Mountain conditions are a separate checklist
A clear Temecula afternoon can still be a chain-control evening at the lake. We will not guess the weather or the road status. Highway driving with a tent on the rack is the dynamic-load case, including crosswinds. If you cannot find a published dynamic number that covers the tent and rack, do not assume the static or tent-floor number covers the drive.
Questions
Do you sell chains or a snow kit?
No. Winter traction is outside the three reference lists.
Is a forest parking pass included?
No. Follow the Forest Service and the vendor they name for any Adventure Pass or equivalent.
